After The GOR and we left the Port Fairy Victoria destination Mount Gambier in South Australia, a town famous because it is located in a volcanic area, one of the most important in Australia.
no control on the border for quarantine as between the Northern Territory and Western Australia because it could not carry fruit and vegetables from one state to another.
So me and my bag of pink lady we went to the free control!:-D
arrived in Mount Gambier are fortunately still open information desk (it was 5.20pm and the office closed at 5.30pm!) Just because of the time half an hour between Victoria and South Australia gave us a hand. In this If I can not complain of the time as I did previously.
;-) The first stop of the tour was the Mount Schank is the youngest volcano in the area (and not erupting from "only" 28,000 years.)
Reassured of his time since the last eruption, in addition to scale and enjoy a wonderful view of the landscape around 
I went down to the center of the crater. 
I think it does not happen every day to get to the center of a crater and beyond that, having "the arrogance" to challenge his sleep by slow pee inside!:-D Shortly after the turn of the lake was blue, always a volcanic lake, famous because of its intense blue color which changes hue with the changing of the seasons.
The next day we left Limestone Coast destination with everything you could see (just not all but the most important things you !;-). Here are some photos of the landscape:

Algae of these lakes, to protect against strong sunlight, produce beta-carotene with the result seen above.

Lighthouse Kingstone famossissima with the giant lobster-catcher tourists. You should know that here in Australia have a habit, put out by local industries or just down the street many of these giant structures made of fiberglass in order to attract the attention of passers (I can tell you that we can great!) If you are traveling on the road in these parts do not be surprised if you happen to see lobsters, prawns, crabs and giant merino sheep .. Here is a rule ;-)

The Wellington ferry the only thing that allows you to cross this river without a ride crazy (in miles) to go in the peninsula This day was less stressful than the previous one when we were on the Great Ocean road where you can stop every 5 seconds rule. E 'was more a stage of transfer to get to the Fleurieu Peninsula.
My mood was not disappointed about the places visited but not the latter, however, aroused the same emotions I had the previous days. And this is where the unthinkable happens that is contained in two words: Victor Harbour.
This town has really surprised me positively. Its location, the scenery you can see, its esplanade (the street on the seafront) is characterized by rows of pine trees in contrast with the sea.
It reminds me a lot about Vancouver or Seattle documentaries seen on television because that kind of landscape I appreciate it
Then the main attractions are two: the bluff overlooking the Gulf
and Granite Island is famous for being a small island connected to the mainland by a picturesque jetty (pier) where every day is a guided tour of the island through an old tram pulled by a horse (stuff for vacationers professionals :-) 
and to have a large colony of penguins (but you can find other animals including seals, possums etc.).

ps I lost the penguins of St. Kilda, but at least those of Victor Harbour are not made me miss them ;-)
Then the time when I was (at sunset) that has something special that I was revitalized.
I was on the island and west to the east there was the sunset while the moon was rising.
And I was right there in the middle .. 
At that moment I also thought about how I will remember this and other days I am living here in Australia when I was back in Italy. It may seem a harakiri but it helps you to appreciate and give even better in the minds these truly magical moments ...
fantastic time that I lived also one of the places I wanted to see my journey in this way ..
I'm talking about Kangaroo Island, a small island 45 minutes by ferry from Cape Jervis on the Fleurieu Peninsula forever.
The island is named after the feast of kangaroo meat, which the explorer Matthew Flinders did with his crew the first time I set foot on the island. So I can assume that there are enough kangaroos (in fact right now I'm talking about them, as I write, one of these cute animals came to seek food ;-)
When we set way, emotions are not missed .. Here's what we saw in the first 60 minutes from our dock:
We were in search of Pellican Lagoon and we took a dirt road (in this journey we have taken so many! Poor Clito ... ;-) seen leading to a beach, and beach !

Then after just 5 minutes we left the beach, although the signs that warned: 
echidna crossing danger (like a porcupine or hedgehog) passes this thing down the street:
a goanna at least 1 meter and a half! But it is not over .. I was driving and at some point I stop and see this scene:
Here are the kangaroos I was talking about before ... A fresh oblivious to the rest of our passage! less than an hour after I arrived there, the emotions are certainly not miss ..
Then all day we visited the main sites located in the southern part of the island. Flinders
Prospect Hill where he began to trace the coast of the island and where it has a beautiful view of both the Lagoon Pellican first
that of Pennington Bay on the other. 
Seal Bay is famous for its colony of seals (sea lions), with Bales Beach 
A corner of the Sahara who inexplicably finds himself in this remote corner of the Earth (in fact this area is called "Little Sahara")
And finally to round off the first day started out great, fate would have given this experience that we will always remain in mind. Admirals Arch at Sunset with this view:
One of the most nice places visited in my entire life (like the Great Ocean Road), but the most spectacular sunset I have ever seen! The photographs may not make it but had to see that those who took the rocks and the waves crashing on them! (Although the smell of otters in New Zealand perched on the rocks on the other hand, has made it very romantic landscape =)
If someone were to make a trip to Kangaroo Island, I highly recommend not to miss Admirals Arch at sunset, even though back then from there after dark is very dangerous. In fact, to avoid some wild animals such as kangaroos, possums, rabbits and all Noah's Ark we devastate the car (since it was already dark and you make them nicely around the street at that hour!) we returned to the hostel very cautiously. 
At Admirals Arch beyond the arc and otters, there is also a beautiful lighthouse that makes the landscape even more fascinating, 
while a little far away to meet " Remarkable Rocks "strange granite formations eroded by natural elements that characterize this stretch of coast (in front there is nothing to Antarctica.) 
The other day two miles and kilometers of dirt road to reach this time the most beautiful spot on the north coast. First stop: Cape Borda Lighthouse
The gun shoots at 12.30 every day ... Fantastic! Then, instead of using the paved road and then make a dozen km of dirt road, we made all the km that separated us from Emu Bay using unpaved road just because you save a lot of km ..
And the landscape has repaid at large:

We also visited a factory that produced by honey bees from Liguria. "
A corner of Italy here ;-) The last leg of the trip was yet another lighthouse at Cape Willoughby.
However, this is the oldest lighthouse in South Australia (Oh well. If you the oldest in SA I can visit him without saying a word. But Vaffa ...!:-D) After the lighthouse was our time on Kangaroo now running out as we went back to Pennashaw to catch the ferry.
It 's weird but after only 2 days this island I was literally left their mark, practically love at first sight. I do not know why, but it was the first time I felt sad about leaving a place here in Australia after I visited (apart from Sydney, but there is different because I know that I will return!)
My sadness during the return trip by ferry =) I hope to return a day on the island to review the places I've seen and even more particularly at a time like this where the hordes of tourists Saving Silverman were absent ..
fact, the only people and animals we were, kangaroos and retired!:-D

Day after starting up early and lightning as we waited a long day of travel. Luckily we slept on the sofa in the kitchen of the camp of Victor Harbor caravan park (the same used before departure to KI) rather than in a tent because the kitchen was comfortable, clean and gave you that sense of "home" which had been so long since I felt

Mt Arapiles, famous for being considered, according to the locals, "the Victoria's Uluru (Uluru you'll know when I'm going to say if it is one of the usual crap that Australians use to attract tourists!) Anyway
the mountain is still a great place to do rock climbing as well as offering views of the landscape from a perspective not some low ..

The purpose of this day's journey was to reach the Grampians before the evening as we slightly modified the route of travel .. The good thing is that apart from the fact that we have reached Halls Gap, the main center of the Grampians, and we also visit the Mckenzie Ruscha that falls are the main falls this region
We are even ahead of well over 2 hours not what we expected (for now) jump anything .. (because we do next! ;-) The next day was devoted for the whole morning to do walks and see the many lookout in the area.
Next stage Silverband falls were also known as the "disappearing waterfalls.
Curious of what we went to see them even if the concern about the crap that the name carried with him, it gave rise to serious doubts. Besides, while I was driving to the waterfall a kangaroo comes out of the bushes literally cuts the road. Thank goodness a bit 'reflections combined with reliable brakes Clito (and a disproportionate ass ;-) have prevented the car back to Melbourne with some broken headlight. You should know that wild animals, especially kangaroos, they love to do this sort of thing during the early morning and dusk. I think if you had the opportunity to visit Australia does not take long to change his mind about kangaroos: the first time you see them say "how nice are just nice" .. but when I start to drive, especially in the morning and evening in roads outside the city, damn them every second!
However, these falls were not anything different than the other if not for the fact (I do not know if any have noticed) that the water actually disappeared among the rocks and then the usual pond that forms at the base of the waterfall was not there!:-D
But the highlight of the day was the path that through so-called Grand Canyon led to the top of pinnacles ...
I do not suffer from vertigo, however, I did not feel at ease, but the spectacle was priceless ..
last stop was the Grampians Mt William which is the highest peak and offers a most beautiful view of the so-called "Central Grampians" which are those that we visited ..
left the Grampians Then we headed to the first important town developed thanks to the Ballarat gold rush of the 19th century as can be seen in the architecture style of Victorian streets, 
Sale then one of the main centers of the region called "West Gippsland in the south-east of Victoria.
This portion of the Gippsland is famous for its park: the Lake National Park.
The uniqueness of this park is that there are three lakes (all 3 large enough) separated from the ocean by a thin strip of land (the space needed to hold a beach and the road that passes!) called ninety miles beach, just because this beach is 90 miles long.
Not even a visit to the wreck of a ship made me change my mind, even if his name was a whole program ..

I liked this area so much that In late morning we were Tarra already NP-Burga a hundred miles from here :-)
This, however, I liked it very much ..
especially the roads that pass in the middle including the "Grand Ridge Road" famous in these parts, but unknown to me. We made just one piece of tarmac as the rest is dirt.
Great Ocean Road a short mountain so to speak ;-) But the main goal of the day was to reach the point that Wilson's Promontory southern continental Australia. This mountain is a park where there are many animals, including many beyond the usual wombats wallabies, koalas and many species of birds
Cry I'm sorry for the photo, but as soon as we stopped running away!:-D But the highlight of the park is of course the landscape with its many walks ..
I actually felt that this is the southern most point of Australia. On top of Mount Oberon, where you have a spectacular view of the three main bays of the promontory, there was a wind chill! 
This is Squeaky Beach. Special features of the beach is that if you walk on, it emits a strange sound, like that of tennis shoes on the Parque. Here's a video that will make you understand what I'm saying ..
Anyway to continue the journey I realized that there are a lot of beaches in Victoria and Tasmania who have the same feature. Other Australian
crap :-)
The "Prom" (such as they call it here) was the first place that really struck me after Kangaroo Island for its wild and unspoiled places (and also because I have visited in a period of the season where even the mass of tourists who invaded in the summer , there is not).
What instead has failed to make Phillip Island last half of the 10, long travel days.
Certainly, the island is very beautiful but it will be because I have seen far more wild places that are closer to my tastes, which will be built for tourists (see the "crossover" of the Penguins held every day at sunset and is the scene on a beach) and considering Melbourne is only 130 km away, but I was very impressed.

These are the so-called Nobbies where there is one of the largest colonies of sea lions in Australia. But besides being a place full of sea lions (although I have not seen not even one!) Is full of seagulls.
I think this picture will help you to understand why the high concentration of these birds, in my opinion, a bit 'too extroverted "!;-) To Fortunately, the tour of the circuit (I know it's been a thing to holidaymakers but it was the only way I could do to see the circuit to close and pay $ 200 for a hotlap where I was not even driving!) I lifted a bit '.
After Philip Island, the destination was Melbourne to hand, alas, clit.
'm sad because I was fond of this little box where the third and fourth gear reached the same engine speed and could use the fifth at 45 km / hour!:-P but not without giving him a good wash (with the brush used to clean the windscreen:-D) in a gas station to Philip Island to take away the kilos of sand caked on paint

I think that in these 10 days, has done more km on dirt roads in 5 months in Australia (and in those 5 months I have seen the desert !!!:- D Ops I meant the Outback !;-).
