Quick update from the capital of Tasmania ( or as they call it here, Tassie!)
Certainly in previous posts you have made the house when I visited the various capitals of State, I have always called the post with the usual "good morning ...."
This time the bad habit has changed since I arrived in Hobart at 11pm and the only thing I wanted to do was have a good bed to sleep really sink into a "heavy "!;-)
back but a few hours before we left Philip Island returned to Melbourne just to leave our fellow adventure Clito "and after a quick jump in the library we headed to the airport. And even there the shit do not miss it!
's start from the fact that instead of using the highly efficient =) Virgin Blue, we had to travel with
Upon check-in once the first problems due to no weight (since I paid extra for the overweight thing I did not need to do with the Virgin
disassembled and reassembled after the backpack and had dinner, we begin to move towards the gate. .
make all checks appropriate (note that carry-on baggage over the backpack had a camping gas stove without gas-course :-) and begin to walk down the hall ..
will state that I have always traveled with Virgin
Basically we were going to gate 8 of the Virgin rather than that of Jetstar
... Fortunately, the perpetrator was aware of the crap and we headed gate right.
And there other surprises ...
To decide not to remove the laptop from the bag, as before, because it was flooded with other stuff in the hope (illusion) that did not know it.
course my backpack is passed by the detector without problems! =)
But not all. Guess what was in the backpack of Vito?
And you think that backpack is passed to the control? Of course not!:-D
Why have not noticed my laptop and instead of that of Vito yes? All this to say that I hate the crap controls at airports because they make you do things absurd and meaningless, even when The Knack, uniformity goes down the drain!
Anyway the trip has not gone wrong at the landing party that lasted most of the entire trip (to make Mel-Hobart only takes between 60 and 75 minutes) and waiting for us in Hobart only 6 degrees! In fact, talking to a guy in the hostel, told me the same night it snowed on Mount Wellington, which is the mountain that overlooks the city.
For Hobart differs totally from other Australian cities. Nothing
CBD (ie, the economic center with the typical high-rise), but only homes and buildings with offices and shopping malls (but only in a few streets in the center), and little more than the center, many private homes site full of trees on the hills surrounding the city.
Mount Wellington which overlooks Hobart not only, but all the south-east of Tasmania!
addition to the presence of roads up (or down, depending on your point of view! The envy ;-) to those of San Francisco!
Marina without infamy and without praise, however, where I ate a good fish and chips (although the taste of my "blue eyes" was identical to the different type of fish taken from Vito!:-S).
afternoon visit the area known as Battery Point, where the guns were installed in defense of the city (who or what I do not know!:-D) Salamanca Place and where the market is held every Sunday in the city.
This area struck me positively because of its many houses "vintage" but for sure the best place is without doubt the "Salamanca Fresh Market, a shop that sells powered kinds of fruits and vegetables fresh and tasty that I have ever experienced until now in Australia .. (Each time the angle is a must on my food blog ;-)
I highly recommend those who plan to visit Hobart not to miss this place ..
I think it is the thing I liked most of Hobert after the Mt Wellington!:-D
Next day devoted to visit of the Queen's domain where it also has a beautiful view over the bay and the bridge linking the two shores of Hobart and Royal Botanic Garden
The Tasman bridge.
where among other things, there is a beautiful Japanese-inspired garden I was very impressed ..
And the two days of Hobart close here, not without first having made all necessary preparations, including the rental of the new machine, to ensure that our tour around the island does not become a way of the cross!:-D
To find out the name of the new machine and to learn more about one of the wildest and most unspoilt places of the whole Australia, I can only refer you to the next post!
Tassie Go Go, Go!
