Smithfields Barbeque Sandwich Caolore

Rediscover the thrill of Christmas Festivities in Tuscany

As children, Christmas is a magical and wonderful, the idea of a fantastic creature as Santa Claus who brings presents to all children fills my heart with happiness and expectancy, increasing this figure starts to fade and eventually disappear carry away the innocence of childhood. Awareness that not everyone will receive gifts at Christmas, even makes us a bit 'more sad than usual, reflecting on the injustices of the world.
But this year I came back a little 'thanks to the little girl's nest and the enthusiasm of the parents on Thursday night helped us to prepare the nest, bringing with them a flood of joy, but the atmosphere has grown to reach its peak Friday, when the children found the Christmas tree and detached from its branches all the sweets we had hung. I did this time with a devastating feeling to come back to enjoy moments that had lost their taste.
The magic of the arrival of Santa Claus made me take a leap into the depths of my self and the girl once she returned to live Christmas, perhaps with a different awareness but with the enthusiasm of the past.

Dark Stool For A Week

... ... Tasmania! Hobart

Get ready for another post .. But the Bible Tasmania deserves it ;-)

Friday, October 24th was the day chosen by us to start our tour to visit the island.

Again wake up early to prepare pack up and go to car to take the car ...

This time I wanted the new Hyundai Getz to be white (do not know why but I wanted white!)

The type of Hertz gives me the keys and find that the car is gray! Patience I say who cares ..

I go to open and see that the change is automatic and I go for pointing out this thing because I had requested a manual. The type tells me "no worries mate" and me a couple more keys.

Guess what color was the car?? Of course white!:-D

Happy as a clam I go to take Vito in the hostel and off we go. The story of

History also inform the new name ... He was not convinced of the name for all'insostituibile Clito, then we promised to rethink the journey.

After 2 minutes of good thoughts (where during the day I had also given birth to a "urine" if the car had been yellow! - Without rancor Horsett ;-) flash of genius who had expected ..

Ladies .. Here's the "TOPA "!!!=)

Topa First stop was the Richmond, famous for being the most important historical city of Tasmania.

addition to the bridge, Richmond has a number of historic buildings (for these parts!) Including the oldest Catholic church in Australia (1836).

After Richmond was the turn of the Tasman Peninsula.

pity for the time (it was cloudy), but the places are very beautiful even though I was not particularly impressed by many of these landscapes I've seen and reviewed all the sauces in my lap the past ..

This peninsula is famous because of its nature (it is "linked" to the rest of Tasmania by a thin strip of land less than 100m wide.) Was used as a place of detention for persons who committed offenses after the deportation in the colony.

Among other things, the strip of land is also named "Dog's line" because at that time, the guards used dogs are not too "friendly" as a deterrent against evasion by some convict.

It is said that the bay next to the dog's line was infested with sharks to avoid any escapes by sea!:-O

The most important city of the peninsula is undoubtedly Port Arthur (the name comes from the governor who had the idea of turning the peninsula into a prison "natural") where there was the largest detention center of the peninsula and where it remained in ruins all use and consumption tourists ..

Be the peninsula we headed to Coles Bay for the night and the next day to visit the Freycinet NP, but not without using a dirt road shortcut that has had the benefit of letting us save time for both Wielangta letting us visit the forest that gave us a first idea of how forests can be Tasman

In addition to testing the "Topa" in the dirt (to be honest was not the first dirt of the day, but certainly the longest one :-)

This national park is famous for its pristine beaches including the famous Wineglass Bay, which should take its name from the shape of wine glass

I have top view and I think the shape of the glass is not the first thing that comes to mind ..

you there you just apply!

I should not wonder if the name of the bay comes from the imagination of some drunken sailor ;-)

To get these pictures from the top, we had to literally climb the mountain that dominates the bay and Mt Amos with a slope that is the envy to one that is climbing.

In some places the granite, it is made of the mountain was so steep and smooth that instead of walking I slipped on the rock ..

However I must admit that my smooth Nike did the rest.:-P

Sometimes I thought about how I, or if I can generalize, "style" Italian is inimitable.

Let me explain: even in the easier path and not too long, people (especially the Germans) are equipped as if they were to climb Everest (backpack, backpack, boots, water bottle etc. etc.) and we just barely have a pint of water that came in 2 finishes in the first 5 minutes of the path!

Nevertheless we always the goal and also the first time without difficulty (so to speak:-D) W

So Italy and the Italians ... Eccheccazzo!:-P

Returning to our climb although tiring it has paid off with a beautiful view of Wineglass Bay and Coles Bay.

After Freycinet, before going to the campsite for the night and recharge the batteries as the last day, we visited the area around St. Helens, where nearby there are also the highest waterfalls in Tasmania namely the St. Columba falls.

But the most interesting part was the visit of the Bay of Fires with "gardens" that is a stretch of white sand beaches and sea so blue that even though the weather was cloudy, color was very intense.

I think these are even more beautiful beaches of Wineglass bay (view from below not from above) which rightly attracts more people being famous!

The next day we shocked a bit 'plans (without skipping anything of course ;-) and we've been so good to be planned ahead with the plan to try to get one more day (compared to that already budgeted) to devote Cradle Mt to

However, before one of the most awaited me in this visit of Tasmania, we visited the Mt William NP with its mountain climbing.

If one day you decide to climb this mountain (so to speak because is only 300m high and the trail takes only 45 minutes), I suggest one thing: DO NOT!

E 'shit! Overlooking even worse!

the pictures ... I do not even

Fortunately, the road between the park and Launceston me greatly relieved seen through the dense forests of northern and Taz as well as having beautiful landscapes, it is very fun to do in the car because of the many curves and bends.

For Launceston, after Victor Harbour, is the city that surprised me most favorably my Australian trip. Certainly much more beautiful and graceful in Hobart.

This was the fake sites pillows through the middle of Launceston. The sign attached

reported the following statement: "This play area is for the use of children under 12 only!":-P

Then the Cataract Gorge, but to everyone since it was transformed in a city park, offers a scenario that could make the envy of many places wild and remote fin'adesso visas.

Leaving Launceston our new plans took us to Mt Roland.

addition to the mountain, which I'll discuss in a moment, the thing that struck me most about this place was the hostel, caravan park.

certainly was one of the most Spartan but they have been paying $ 10 for this room

and have a shower, a kitchen with all the comfort and above all FREE intenet at these latitudes (that was the satellite) and be at the foot of the mountain we had to climb the next day without the kilometers we do every day to reach the places to visit, made him one of the Australia's best hostels!:-D

PS: Aimed at those who have camped in Australia: $ 5 powered sites. crazy stuff!:-D

next morning the long awaited ascent of Mt Roland.

The scale can be done either through the path that leads to the top directly or through a circuit passing through the Mt Van Dyke (as the actor who was a chimney sweep in Mary Poppins!:-D).

Before arriving at the junction for the circuit, Vito Van Dyke wanted to go for but I did not want to because I wanted to see now the centerpiece of the area and especially because the path leading to the top, it looked very steep right from 'beginning. In fact, having seen the path was convinced.

This is the view from Mount Roland

the way back we decided to go down through the path to Vandyke.

not we had never done!

The brochure described this path as the mountain "route for people who are well trained and equipped with a strong spirit of adventure."

My concern given by the brochure description was right to exist ..

strong spirit of adventure?? It was a path of war !!!:- S

I cursed from the top of the mountain to the parking lot so I think that the "scientist" who made the track (but in reality it is limited to putting the arrows with the spray on stones and a few flakes here and there because in some places the path is not there!) I also heard. And if you did not hear me, for sure he will whistle your ears:-D)

In comparison, the Amazon jungle has trails for people to walk her dog on Sunday!

The plants were taller than us (in my case it does not take much, but this is not the point !:-).

The point is that the track was full of steep gravel that makes you like you're slipping on the ice. When there were the stones that were cut down trees to cross them you had to assemble them as if they were horses!

But FUCK! (Excuse the French! =)

returned safely and happy to write the time of arrival on the register at the entrance of the path for further research on the part of the rescue in case you ever lose or something worse happen: - D, we headed north Assigned Devonport.

Before the town dock where the Spirit of Tasmania (Australia ferry that connects the island)

we went from "Leven Canyon 40 km south of Ulverstone where c 'is a 250-meter high lookout from a ravine on a creek where it passes

But the thing that fascinated me more of this deviation were the landscapes of the north of Tasmania can give you.

At least, until this point in the journey, the northern part is, for my taste, much more beautiful than I've seen in southern . Of course, before you pull the money aspect of the journey's end when I have completed around the island.

100% bucolic, or at most "bushcolico"! (I understand that this is the few ;-)

return to the language of Devonport, on the ferry and the lighthouse, the town did not offer much of it as it was Launceston.

Let Devonport, the day the plans were based on the visit of the major centers of the northern coast with all the amenities that make it up.

It starts from Penguin and as the name implies, its economy based on everything that revolves around the penguins saw this large colony

Fast "taste" in Burnie.

Yes you read that right. I wrote sample because in addition to visiting this city with the hope of seeing the platypus (obviously not even the shadow of the only mammal that lays eggs!) The main objective was the "cheese factory" with free tasting of cheeses.

now I've seen plenty of those cheese factory, but the variety of cheeses that I tried here was absurd! Indeed there were 5 / 6 different types of brie, although nearly all had the same taste, but this is not the point.:-D

The point is that we filled up without paying anything !=)=)

Let the cheese to mature, the next goal was to Wynyard with his "Table Cape" where you have a wonderful view of the coast,

well as offering a beautiful landscape without running the risk of falling from the cliff!

Practically than usual lighthouse, as you can see, the fields are filled with crops of flowers (tulips I recognized only seen my ignorance on) as there is a farm that is interested in precisely the cultivation of flowers.

Lighthouse more these fields full of flowers have made this even more fascinating corner of Tasmania.

But this stretch of coast brought us another pleasant surprise. Boat Harbour Beach.

This beautiful beach, not very well known, reminded me of Australia's most famous beaches such as turquoise beach or Cable Beach and is certainly the most beautiful beach I've seen so far in Tasmania.

Boat Harbour after another beautiful stretch of coast that surrounds the "Nut" a promontory that comes out of nowhere to Stanley.

Again, the view and the sea are not to be thrown away!

Before arriving at Cradle Mountain National Park that was the thing I was expecting more in my trip to Tasmania (for a while 'time I associated the Taz exclusively in this park because of the landscape that manages to offer!), our plan has led us to the so-called "Edge of the World" that is the end western Tasmania which is located in the town of Arthur River (just 110 inhabitants, of which 100 are fishermen and I believe that two, at that time, we were !:-).

Actually, the westernmost point of Taz is a beacon to Marrawah little further north, but to make this place a few calls tourist who is not concerned solely and exclusively to fishing, since it is one of the best places to practice this activity, they invented this thing.

Almost had you in mind to take a boat ride in these parts, plus a heavy dose of pills against seasickness, I suggest you bring along a tanker full of food since to meet again with the mainland you have to get up in Argentina!

finally reached the long-awaited day for me: I'm talking delll'ascesa of Cradle Mountain.

simply special!

I think only the Alps (the mountains that I saw) can give you such landscapes.

From the beginning I felt something mystical about being in that place: one of the most famous and most inaccessible mountains of Tasmania: Tasmania that is!

island that many if you ask where he would not know if it does not give you a right answer, after thinking a bit.

As you can see the time and especially the temperature was not on our side.

Already the first night we got a taste of how they can be "freschine" the temperatures around here since we camped. I only say that because of the cold, I literally "loculizzato" (an expression coined by Dani and I must stress it breaks if no ac ***! Hello dear ;-) in my sleeping bag: ie I put in and I made the strap so that we could spend a maximum of one finger!

I tell you this thing that saved me from hypothermia:-D because when I tried to get up in the morning as soon as I opened a little (just room for two fingers look so cold that came in :-) our tent looked like a minicongelatore!

Anyway back to climbing, even this time we had the right equipment.

mean in terms of clothing, we were able to make a cocktail of sweatshirts, fleece jackets and who have properly isolated from the icy winds that were at high altitude, but as the tower of Babel had a very bad foundation, our heel Achilles was the shoes!

Even as smooth as a blade, we have allowed, say it without difficulty, to go up and down these paths

But when we encountered snow at about 15 minutes from the summit, well do not we felt the risk of slipping into the void.

This technique is called "transverse" (thanks Vito ;-) and the left side of the picture, there was a gully leading to a ravine, which fell to the valley I think ..

I was there, a few steps from the summit that was expecting so much climbing, but instead of continuing to reach the final goal, our shallowness of doing things (I mean the our "equipment") forced us to go back.

For goodness sake, certainly many non-professional people like us, having the right equipment, did not continue to be felt and seen the conditions of the track, both conditions (wind, in that canyon bought a lot of strength in some moments!) but I found them helpless against this little "challenge" that I proposed to make me a bit demoralized '.

Fortunately after a few moments, however, I realized what I was able to do and the place where I was and then the story of two other people I met there on the difficulty of the path after the stretch (ie after the beam There was another rock wall to climb with as much snow), I reported on Earth making me realize the impossibility of climbing since, although it was difficult to cross that line with those shoes, it became impossible to climb a wall (though not so steep as to require the aid of ropes and the like) made slippery by snow.

the descent of the mountain, we used a different path that gave us these other views of the mountain and I have increased the sense of melancholy about leaving this place made famous not only from this mountain but also by the presence of ' Overland Track, "a 80 km long route that literally cuts in two the entire park and paradise for hiking.

To walk the entire path are between 5 / 7 day walk.

Here Vito in "Games Without Frontiers"

The next day, apart from a brief period where Strahan is one of the most inaccessible parts of the coast across the Tasman, but offers a great looking show from landscape point of view,

and Queenstown is famous for its copper mines in the open

It seems that the whole city is in the "crater" of the mine itself!

it was the turn of another national park: the Franklin-Gordon National Park.

The main attraction of this park is surely the Frenchman's Cap (a mountain) with its hiking trails to be covered should be from 5 to 7 days.

evaluating the timing, certainly not on our side, and the fact that this route is considered more difficult and dangerous of the same Overland Track, we wisely decided since our previous experience, it would be more appropriate "fill" your day with a visit to equally interesting sights of the park. ;-)

of which the Nelson Falls, Franklin River, where you can practice rafting and even though we have not completed, we had the satisfaction of making a piece of the path leading to the Frenchman's cap (just the first 15 minutes!:-P) up to the famous (in these parts) suspension bridge which is located along the path

Nevertheless, our desire to return to the Cradle Mountain National Park has led us (because it was in the programs ;-) to visit the south end of the park's 80 km Overland Track.

I refer to Lake St. Clair National Park.

here besides the tracks from "vacationers sleeping bordering the lake (a boring, except that the final piece of the lake even if it was not anything particularly interesting.)

we had the brilliant idea of disturbing his "sleep," another top: I refer to Mt Rufus (whose very name is not inspire much confidence!:-D)

fact already the day before the excursion on the track, the rangers at our request, gave us some information about the poor conditions meteorolgiche we would find along the route. In addition to the high probability of rain showers, that Friday was (and I add "right" since we were there!:-S), the wettest day of the week at Lake St. Clair! (We had seen the forecast for the whole week)

Even the top was covered with snow and topped with a thick blanket of fog.

short, the mountain was waiting for us!:-D

All this has enabled us to desist from pursuing the last piece of the path that led up to the top as well as the cold water that we took ( taking into account the rain taken up to that time) we would not see a damn nice!

they returned sadly to the base, the program (revisited the previous morning when you saw that the plans, you must keep in mind that they regularly go to putt ... ;-) included a visit to the Lake Gordon and Lake Pedder the two largest lakes in Tasmania which together have a range of water 27 times the size of Sydney Harbour (The Bay is in Sydney).

I know that this information can not tell you anything (I honestly do not even say anything to me because, among other things, I was in Sydney and I saw when the bay is great!:-D) but I report what I read and I can say that indeed those two lakes are the best!

I can not see where is the end of the lake ..

But the main attraction, if you can say so, the area is the "Gordon Dam, which is the largest dam present in this area.

not ask info about this dam because I have not read anything :-)

On the way to the south of Tasmania, we are again to be retouched Hobart Mt Wellington to visit because it was our intention to reach the summit on a sunny day to get a better view of the city is that of the entire south-eastern Tasmania

the particularity of this summit is that there is an ascent of 1270 meters above sea level in so few miles that you can not have a very broad view of the whole south east coast of Tasmania .

Mt Wellington after yet another park that features Tasmania: Mt Field NP favorite by the people of Hobart for day trips or spend the weekend.

Among other things you can even go skiing in these parts

As you can perceive the climate was not safe tempered ..

The last two days of our "campaign" Tasmania we have dedicated to visiting the southern part of the island.

The final destination was the South East Cape, which is the southernmost point of Tasmania and across Australia to reach by car or on foot, if you want to go to the tip of the head after a short walk of 2 hours.

Use short because by now after these 10 days we walked so much of Tasmania (less than 12km a day we never did!) And for so long (walks ranging from 20 minutes to 6 / 8 hours including the return of course) that 2 hours seems a few ...

My wait for this place was going up minute by minute during the trip was taking us there as the place where we were going (hence the most in South Australia you can find is missing a dot in the ocean called Mcquarie Island at 1420 km from here, and administer 40% of Antarctica from Australia!).

fact that I imagined would be the most isolated places and seen so far that I would do one of the most adventurous things of my trip to Australia in view of the fact that there are only touring caravan park but camping without services (Apart from the lavatories).

But we get there and what do we find? This:

even on the road there were children playing happily as if they were at home, apart from the crowd of Australians dedicated to the barbeque, the fishing boats (not just a simple cane but had taken the boats .. BOATS !!!:- S), all bathed in rivers and rivers of beer!

However, the walk to Fisher's point (a first bay of the head) made the sunset from where you could see the carcasses of dead whales old who knows how long (I have to admit that We did not walk the whole, however, even the shadow of bones!)

and walk around his head made early in the morning so to avoid having to get the crowd later, I returned the little adventure I was expecting from this place.

Degrees East Longitude 146.8235, 43.61113 ° South Latitude especially

Sincerely, further south so I could not!

What about this trip in Tasmania which is drawing to a close.

The days I spent here were very few to know fully their mentality (14 days) and also the most unexplored, although I have seen places.

What I know is that if you request one from the south who drink beer or more, which considers the best beer in the world, is only one answer is obvious: Cascade! (Made in Hobart).

While those in the north, the answer is even more obvious: the Boag's (produced in Launceston and prefer the other ...).

Never try to tell one of the two "sides" which for you is better than the other or vice versa: first they mistake for an idiot, then looks at you sideways as if you were an alien just came from another planet (with the risk of taking them!)

You know you have this thing in pubs in the south only signs of Cascade, just north of the Boag's brands.

Seriously, if I understand a little bit of Australians in general I can say that I understand a little more from Tassie: they are a people apart. And I refer not only to the fact that they have a different mentality of the Australian "continent" because of the fact that, among other things, are grown on this island that is on the border of the world and tend to remain there or to their innate sense of hospitality that can be found or that you transmit.

For example I can think of the pair met in Coles Bay and erect a tent we had first offered their help, then a beer in their bungalow two minutes after we had arrived there or Ralph an old man nicknamed "Father Christmas" originally from Melbourne

(which among other things became Africa from Johannesburg to Cairo by hitchhiking) met in Strahan and that only after 5 minutes of conversation we had offered hospitality at his home in Devonport as well as give us an accurate description of the people who live here and Taz in general as a "nation" is very different from the rest of Australia where, among other things, you may be able to get from south to north hitchhiking in half a day safely without danger of any kind!

one I see is that, according to "Tasmania", the island manages to convey, even if you're not originally from here, emotions are so tangible that bind to this island so that the leaves more.

For "Tasmania" the fee is something special, unique, something that can not be left without a valid reason and that attracts you immediately and you can push to revolutionize your life to stay here.

's hard to explain and to understand instantly, even for me as the few days I spent here, but if you think about it and review in my mind what I have seen or experienced (particularly in the central and on the west coast of the island) as well then it is not difficult ...

To close and make you understand better with pictures what Tasmania can express, here's a little present ..

soon!
